Joss North East 9 Ball Tour Comes to Yorkville, NY

Top Pool Players Compete in First Annual Al Conte Memorial Tournament

Yorkville, New York (November 5, 2009) –The Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour is heading to Hippo’s House of Billiards on Saturday November 7th & Sunday November 8th. This event will be the first Al Conte Memorial. “Al was one of the good guys in the business and treated all who knew him as a friend.  He was one of the greatest pool table mechanics in the world. I personally know that Brunswick would consult Al whenever they had a problem with any of their table designs. Whenever Al would come to recover tables at my pool room, I could have charged admission. I never saw so many people show up at 8 am to watch someone work. He would always take the time to answer all of the curious onlooker’s questions. Al's passing has left a big gap in the pool world which will never be filled”, said Mike Zuglan, owner of the Joss Tour.

The Conte family, owners of Hippos House of Billiards, invites ALL of you to come and be a part of this great event. The tournament will have $1,500 added to it and spectators will be admitted at no charge.  Hippo’s has a full menu of delicious homemade food as well as beer and wine. Those that are coming to play must arrive Saturday November 7th, no later than noon. Entry information as well as directions, our complete schedule, dress codes, results, sponsor links etc. can be found at http://www.joss9balltour.com. Call Hippo’s directly for motel information at 315-768-0218.

The $25,000 Added Turning Stone Classic XIV 9-Ball Open is being held from December 17th through December 20th and is filling fast!! I love to play pool and became very competent at it. I do not possess my very own pool table as I did not have space for it where I used to reside. I moved a short time ago to a much better house with a great garden. I decided, right now is the time to get my very own pool room. That is to say, I'm no longer convinced if I want to have one room merely for putting a pool table in. While researching several pool tables on the internet I came across this interesting piece on outdoor pool tables. I see this is a cool place with fantastic members so what I am asking is if a few of you had enjoyable experiences with an outdoor pool table. Is it really that much more enjoyable than playing inside? The climate is fine where I live so do I have to to take a lot of precautions so the pool table will keep going a long time. Please help me in deciding what to buy. Thank you.
